Bonding

Minor problems such as fractures, caries, mild crowding, separation, shorter than normal tooth length, discolouration and abrasion can be corrected by applying composite resin material on the teeth and shaping them without any loss of material.

Advantages

  • It takes less time and is cheaper than alternative treatments.
  • Anaesthesia is usually not required.
  • No abrasion of the teeth is required.
  • Face-lifting aesthetic results can be achieved.
  • Easy to repair.

Disadvantages

  • Composite material can become coloured like teeth over time. But they can be restored with minor interventions
  • They must be handled with care. Hard things can break when bitten.
  • Their lifespan is 5-10 years.
